Hi,
I'm Peter Vickerson the owner and manager of ABC
Mortgages ,a mortgage broking business I established in
July 2003. Prior to that I was a secondary maths teacher
in Brisbane for over 20 years. Why did I leave teaching?
Well, I was getting increasingly fed up with the system;
increasingly bad student behaviour and an administration
that wouldn't help in any significant way. I had had
enough.
About the same time my wife and I had bought an
investment property and we used a mortgage broker for
the first time to finance it.
I was absolutely blown away by the experience. The
guy was so helpful and obviously on our side. He showed
us over 30 lenders and who would lend to us and who
wouldn't. Of the lenders who would he then found us the
best rate. He absolutely bent over backwards for us and
got us the loan in no time.
Well the rest is history. I am now earninng multiples
of my teaching salary and absolutely love what I do. The
sense of satisfacton I get when we place first home
buyers in their new homes is fantastic. Most of my
clients have become my friends and refer new business to
us.
My business has grown to 3 paid staff and 4 other
commission only brokers. We are growing rapidly and need
new brokers to help us handle the volume of
enquiries.
Earning
Potential
The banks pay us a
commision on each loan we introduce and settle. For an
average loan of $250000 and for a lead supplied by the
company the brokers share would be approx $700 in up
front commission and a further $230 per annum (approx)
in trail commission for the life of the loan.
If the broker introduced
their own lead the upfront and trail would be $1225 and
$400 respectively. These are only indicative figures.
Each broker would be expected to settle around 10 loans
per month.

based on leads supplied by the company. If the broker
supplied their own leads then the earnings would be much
higher.

enough leads to be the greatest difficulty they
encounter but we have overcome that problem for you.
